Under the directives of the Nineveh Health Directorate, and with the support of Pharmacist Dilshad Ali Abdullah Shangali, who is authorized with the powers of the Director General of Nineveh Health Directorate, and the supervision of Senior Dentist Turko Fandi Elias, acting Director of Sinuni General Hospital, the surgical operating room at Sinuni General Hospital has been officially reactivated after being out of service for nearly eight years.

This milestone comes as a result of the significant efforts made by the hospital’s team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, assistants, and both nursing and administrative staff, who worked tirelessly to prepare and equip the operating room in accordance with medical standards.

Since the first day of reopening, the surgical unit has successfully performed approximately 20 minor and intermediate surgeries, led by a specialized and experienced surgical team. The hospital administration has expressed its ambition to expand the scope of surgical services in the near future to include major surgeries, aiming to raise the level of medical care provided to the local community.

This development is expected to have a positive impact on residents of the northern subdistrict and its surrounding areas, by reducing the need to refer patients to distant hospitals and ensuring timely access to essential surgical services.

Hospital officials have also called on local residents to continue their support and cooperation with medical and administrative staff, to overcome the challenges that may hinder ongoing operations. They reaffirmed their commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services to the people of the region.
