The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, today condemned Iranian drone attacks that targeted his personal office and the residence of the head of the Kurdistan Security and Intelligence Agency (Parastin) in Erbil, describing the attacks as a “dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the security and stability of the Region.”
In a post on his official account on X, Masrour Barzani said: “Based on investigations conducted by the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Unit, it was confirmed that my personal office and the residence of the head of the Security and Intelligence Agency were targeted earlier today by Iranian drones.”
The Prime Minister added: “I strongly condemn these reckless and unacceptable attacks. This is a dangerous escalation and an explicit threat to the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region.”
Barzani reaffirmed his government’s firm position, stating: “These attacks will never deter us from continuing to fulfill our duties and our commitment to protecting our citizens.”
