On the occasion of March 8th, International Women’s Day, Duhok Governor Dr. Ali Tatar honored 8 women on Sunday, March 9th, one of whom is from Sinjar.
The Governor of Duhok received a number of women, and during the meeting, the role of Kurdish women in various sectors of society was discussed, especially their contributions in different phases of the struggle, as well as the successes achieved by Kurdish women in various fields. The meeting also covered the protection of women’s rights, the fight against violence, and the recognition of their status.
On this occasion, the Governor extended his congratulations to all women in Kurdistan during a press conference at the Governor’s Office. He honored 8 distinguished and successful women from six districts in Duhok Governorate, in addition to Sinjar (Shingal) and Western Kurdistan (Rojava).
This recognition is part of Duhok Governorate’s women’s program, where congratulations and encouragement were given to these women to serve as role models for other successful women, urging them to continue their work and achieve even greater successes.
