MP Vian Dakhil met with Mr. Yokota Kenji, the Chargé d’Affaires at the Japanese Embassy in Baghdad, where they discussed the latest political developments, with a focus on urgent humanitarian issues, particularly the displacement crisis and the situation in Sinjar.
The two parties discussed ways to provide support for the reconstruction of Sinjar, ensuring the improvement of infrastructure and creating suitable conditions for the return of displaced persons. They also addressed the humanitarian situation in the camps and the need for sustainable solutions to improve the conditions of the displaced and alleviate their suffering.
During the meeting, MP Vian Dakhil emphasized the importance of international support, especially from Japan, in providing humanitarian and developmental aid to Sinjar and affected areas, which would promote stability and help provide a dignified life for returning displaced persons.
For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires expressed his country’s interest in following up on the situation of the displaced and the reconstruction of Sinjar.
