In an exclusive interview with Sema TV, Farhad Atrushi, the former Governor of Duhok, emphasized the importance of documenting the mass killings committed against the Ezidi people throughout history in a scientific and evidence-based manner.
Atrushi praised the participants and speakers at the conference, noting that they had scientifically proven, through legal evidence and forensic medicine, that these crimes were systematically committed against the Ezidis across different historical stages.
He said:
“The last of these crimes was the mass slaughtering of the Ezidis in Sinjar in 2014. I am a living witness to what happened. We may have read about such atrocities in books, but this time, we saw them with our own eyes — the horrific crimes committed by the terrorists of Daesh and their collaborators.”
Atrushi explained that the main goal of this conference is to document these crimes scientifically and to educate future generations about the true history of the Ezidi people, stressing the need to prevent such crimes from recurring against the Ezidis or any other group.
His remarks to Sema TV highlight the importance of preserving historical truth and ensuring justice for all victims of the genocide against the Ezidi people.
