The media office of the head of the Ezidi Parliamentary Bloc, MP Eng. Khalid Saido Aziz, announced that the Minister of Finance has approved the immediate release of financial allocations for Iraq’s Forensic Medicine Department, as part of ongoing efforts to advance the file of mass graves and the identification of victims’ remains.
The move follows a series of meetings previously held by MP Saido with the families of victims, honoring his commitment to pursue this humanitarian and national cause. It also comes after his meeting with the Director General of the Forensic Medicine Department to secure the support needed to ensure the continuation of its work.
The immediate funding is expected to accelerate the examination of human remains and the identification of victims, particularly through DNA testing related to the victims of the Ezidi genocide and the martyrs of the Speicher massacre. The step aims to help bring closure to this long-standing humanitarian file and deliver long-awaited justice to the victims’ families.
