Sema

MP Vian Dakhil, the spokesperson for the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in the Iraqi Parliament, announced the launch of the registration process for displaced persons to obtain the unified national card. This announcement was made during her visit to the Directorate of Civil Status and Passports in Duhok Governorate, where she met with the director of the department and staff members.

During the visit, an agreement was reached to begin registering names on the upcoming Saturday and Sunday to facilitate displaced persons’ access to this essential official document.

MP Vian Dakhil confirmed that the Directorate of Civil Status and Passports has made significant efforts in recent months to successfully implement programs aimed at serving citizens, particularly displaced persons. She noted that this step comes in light of the difficulties displaced persons face in returning to their original areas due to long distances or complex security and administrative conditions.

The MP also expressed her appreciation for the significant role played by the Federal Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of the Interior of the Kurdistan Region, in cooperation with the 17th Branch of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, as well as the efforts of the Migration and Displacement Department, which contributed to preparing designated areas within the camps for registering names and issuing unified national cards.

This initiative represents an important step towards improving the conditions of the displaced and ensuring their legal rights in light of the challenges they face. The process of issuing the cards will officially begin next Sunday, with Sharya Camp being the first location for the project’s implementation.
