Darkar, Zakho | Monday – An explosion struck a school located within a camp in the Darkar subdistrict of Zakho, sparking a large fire that has since engulfed parts of the building.
According to Jahur Mohammed, Director of the Darkar Subdistrict in the Independent Administration of Zakho, the attack originated from an unknown source, and investigations are still underway to determine the cause. “So far, we do not know who carried out the attack, nor is it clear whether the bombing was caused by a drone or artillery fire,” Mohammed stated.
Emergency response teams are currently on-site and continuing their efforts to extinguish the fire and secure the area. No immediate reports of casualties have been confirmed at this time.
