On Monday, September 22, 2025, the Ain Sifni Social Association, part of the Sama Media Foundation, announced the discovery of three Ezidi graves in the Nahdark area. The graves were uncovered during ongoing construction work and have been identified as belonging to Ezidis.
Historically, the area served as a cemetery for the Ezidi community and was known, according to those familiar with Ezidi heritage, as the Amadin Cemetery.
Nahdark is also known as the site of the sacred Nahdarki Tree, which recently fell due to root decay. After the opening of the road connecting the Lalish Temple and Sheikhan, the construction company involved in the project planted nine trees and began developing a garden. This effort aims to preserve the spiritual and cultural significance of the Nahdarki Tree in Ezidi memory.
