Nadia Murad, UN Goodwill Ambassador and Ezidi human rights advocate, has warned the Syrian government against any acts of violence targeting the Ezidi community in the city of Aleppo, stressing that such actions would carry serious consequences for Syria.
Murad emphasized that protecting the Ezidis and safeguarding their fundamental rights is a legal and moral obligation that must not be ignored. She noted that the international community is closely and anxiously monitoring the situation.
She further warned that any attack against the Ezidis—including killings, displacement, or discrimination—will not go unanswered and will lead to international accountability.
The message is clear:
-
Protecting the Ezidis is a duty
-
Zero tolerance for human rights violations
-
Violence will have grave consequences for Syria
This warning comes amid growing international concern over the safety of religious and ethnic minorities in conflict-affected areas, alongside renewed calls to ensure protection and equal rights for all communities without exception.
