President Masoud Barzani issued a statement addressing the latest developments in Syria, noting that as part of efforts to manage the crisis, an important joint meeting was held yesterday bringing together the Special Envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump for Syrian Affairs, the General Commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and the President of the Kurdish National Council in Syria.
President Barzani expressed hope that the fighting, tensions, and ongoing escalation between Syrian government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces would come to an end as soon as possible, and that all parties would return to previously concluded agreements aimed at resolving disputes and achieving stability among the Syrian sides.
He also described the decree issued by the Syrian President concerning Kurdish rights as a positive step in the right direction, expressing hope that it would serve as a foundation to be strengthened and enriched with the consent of the relevant parties, thereby contributing to establishing guarantees for the rights of the Kurdish people on legal and constitutional grounds.
