“Light of the Creator”: A New Book for Ezidi Children in Germany

Sema

A new book for Ezidi children titled “Light of the Creator” has been published in Germany by author Sufian Dalkani.

According to the author, the book consists of ten diverse chapters and targets children aged 6 to 14.

The book explores the “beginning of creation” based on Ezidi mythology, drawing on authentic religious sources. It also covers religious rituals, the role of parents, values such as respect and honesty, and the importance of protecting the environment within the Ezidi religious perspective. In addition, it touches on the topic of marriage in Ezidi society.

The book features an interactive style, with each chapter ending in a dedicated space where children can ask questions or express themselves through drawings.

It is written in four languages—Kurdish, Arabic, English, and German—with the Kurdish and German editions currently printed.

The book is set to be distributed among the Ezidi diaspora in Europe, Australia, and the United States, and will also be taught at the “Kanya Spi” school in Germany.

It is worth noting that the book was published in consultation with religious figures, including Marwan Babiri.
