In recognition of his academic and scientific achievements, Dr. Arshad Hamad Maho has been promoted to the rank of Assistant Professor at the University of Duhok, after fulfilling all the required academic criteria and presenting a series of solid research studies.
The promotion was officially approved during the regular meeting of the University of Duhok Council on March 8, 2026, for the 2025–2026 academic year.
This promotion follows Dr. Maho’s completion of two specialized studies on the history and society of the Ezidis, which are considered valuable contributions to the scientific and cultural literature of the region:

Documenting the oral history of the Ezidis through sacred texts and traditional songs.

ISIS policies and strategies regarding Ezidi children during and after the 2014 occupation of Sinjar.
Dr. Arshad Hamad Maho, originally from the village of Kli Badri in the Sharya area of Duhok province, currently serves as a lecturer at the University of Duhok and has made a notable impact in academic and cultural fields.
On this occasion, Dr. Maho expressed his happiness and gratitude, thanking all the professors and colleagues who supported him throughout his academic journey to achieve this distinguished rank.
