“Shvan”, a Kurdish short film directed by (Sarhat Nariman), is participating in the fourth Kurdish Film Festival – Moscow Short Films, which is scheduled to be held this month in the Russian capital.The young Yazidi director Sarhat Nariman told Sema: His short film titled “Shvan” will participate in an international film festival in Russia. This participation will be the fourth time this film is shown at a festival. The film was produced in 2023 and has so far participated in three festivals, one of which was at the Duhok City Festival where it was selected as the best short film.Regarding the story of the short film, Sarhat explained that the film’s story is about two shepherds who live in a village and take care of sheep and chickens. One day, their sheep scatter and several events unfold.
He added that this short film was made in the style of science fiction, a style that is rarely used in Kurdistan.
He also says: The film was produced with a small staff of several people and on a low budget.
It is known that this participation in Russia will be an opportunity to showcase Kurdish art at an international level.The fourth Kurdish Film Festival in Moscow is scheduled to take place from the 18th to the 22nd of this month.
