A Blessed Day to Iman Abdullah

Sema

On this day, 9 years ago, Lalish opened its arms to an Ezidi family— the family of “Iman Abdullah,” who had been kidnapped by the terrorist group ISIS after their genocide against the Ezidis in Sinjar on August 3, 2014.

Iman Abdullah, our colleague at Sema TV, works on a special program for Ezidi survivors. After being freed from ISIS captivity, she achieved great success over the years, advocating for the Ezidi cause and exposing ISIS atrocities locally and globally. She has played a significant role in amplifying the voices of victims and their families to decision-making centers in Erbil, Baghdad, and worldwide.

Iman returned to complete her studies and became the project manager for the financial grant provided by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, H. E Masrour Barzani. She has conducted numerous interviews focusing on achieving transitional justice, holding perpetrators accountable, and seeking justice for the victims.

Today, Iman is a symbol of resilience and resistance.

We extend all our support and love to our colleague Iman Abdullah. At Sema TV, we greatly appreciate her invaluable role in changing the lives of victims. We encourage her to continue her work and resilience, and we honor the efforts she has made to achieve justice for the victims.
