One of the oldest buildings in the Lalish Temple, “Khana Ezi,” is set to be transformed into a museum to preserve Yazidi heritage.

Engineer Khalid Nermo, one of the supervisors of the Lalish Temple restoration project, stated on Thursday, April 3, 2025, “We have proposed a project to convert Khan Ezi in the Lalish Temple into a museum for Yazidi heritage.”

He added, “Khan Ezi is one of the oldest buildings in the Lalish Temple. It will house and preserve everything related to Yazidi culture and heritage, including traditional Yazidi clothing, religious music, and ancient tools used by Yazidis in agriculture and household activities.”

Nermo continued, “The museum project is still in the planning stage to become a heritage museum and a historical archaeological site for Yazidis. However, no budget has been allocated or work initiated yet.”

If the project is approved, this museum will play a vital role in preserving Yazidi heritage. Visitors and delegations coming to the Lalish Temple will have the opportunity to closely witness Yazidi culture and traditions.
