The Kurdish National Council of Syria announces its position regarding participation in the announcement ceremony of the Syrian transitional government; they state that the new leadership of the country has not coordinated with them regarding the formation of the government.
The Kurdish National Council of Syria (KNCS) through its spokesperson Faisal Youssef has clarified its position regarding participation in the announcement ceremony of the Syrian transitional government, which is scheduled to be announced tomorrow, Saturday, by Ahmed al-Sharaa, president of the transitional phase.
The KNCS has announced that despite receiving an invitation, they will not participate in the ceremony because the new Syrian leadership has not coordinated with them regarding the formation of this government and has not consulted them.
The KNCS states that the Kurdish political forces represent the true representation of the Kurdish people and are their true defenders, but it is not in their interest to be mere spectators without having a role in achieving Kurdish rights.
The Kurdish National Council of Syria has also expressed hope that the new Syrian administration would give importance to the rights of Kurds as the second largest ethnic group in the country, recognize their rights, and involve them in rebuilding the country.
The KNCS has also clarified that the new Syrian administration has not held any discussions with them regarding the participation of any other Kurdish parties, the level of Kurdish representation in the government, or securing Kurdish shares and rights within it.
